A message from our CEO, Sarah Atkinson

Talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not - and this is why we continue working to unlock potential, broaden horizons and create opportunities with and for brilliant young people.

I’m immensely proud of our achievements this year. This year, our wonderful team have also shared some of their proudest moments, which you can have a listen to below.

Of course, none of this work is done alone. I am profoundly thankful to our funders and partners, volunteers, supporters, staff, trustees and, of course, our brilliant young people. Together, we’ve achieved so much this year. But we know there’s still plenty to do. In a time when 40% of young people from lower socioeconomic backgrounds told us that they have faced discrimination due to their class background, it's vital that we face the challenge head on.

We have ambitious plans for the future, and so your support is very much appreciated. Your donations help us continue to change the lives of talented young people across the UK; visit https://www.socialmobility.org.uk/donate. If you can’t donate or are eager to do more, there are so many ways to get involved – explore our website and get in touch with the team – we’d love to hear from you!

We’re doing things a little differently this year because we know that no one can talk about the impact of the SMF as well as our young people. So, this year, we’re passing our Impact Report over to the voices most integral to our story. I’ll hand you over to our community: our students, alumni, staff, trustees, volunteers and partners to tell you all about the last year at the Social Mobility Foundation. Enjoy!
